My name is Jenn and I’m 17 years old (I have a late birthday so I won’t be 18 until November.) I grew up in Mount Vernon, NY and moved to West Harrison, NY when I was 8. I’ve lived here ever since, and it’s pretty boring. It’s a small suburban town where everyone knows everyone. The only good part about West Harrison is that it’s on the outskirts of White Plains, which is a semi-interesting city. I’ve had a pretty ordinary life-normal high school, nothing fancy. I took art every year and finished off with AP Studio. Parsons was my first choice, so it was a given that I decided to come here when I was accepted. I commute from Westchester to the city everyday, but will be living in the city next year because it’s absolutely torturous. I work at Barnes and Noble and go to school and keep up with a social life, so I’m pretty much only home when I’m doing homework or sleeping for the few hours I get each week. As far as my future, I always thought I wanted to be an art teacher. But I’m strongly reconsidering this, and currently have absolutely no idea what I want to do with my future. The only thing I do know is that I want it to involve art/design, which is why I’m at Parsons =).
